Officers of the Perry Police Department intervened in a dog fight about 6:15 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Third Street after a caller reported “there’s blood everywhere.”
An elderly Staffordshire bull terrier, apparently residing in the neighborhood, sustained facial lacerations in its encounter with a passing pit bull terrier that appeared to be running at large.
Officers captured and separated the dogs, and the pit bull was transported to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
