Alma Blougher Swanson has filled the display room of Swan Antics so quickly at 1226 Second St. that she is expensing her footprint to 1224 Second. St.

Swan Antics just opened last week in downtown Perry, and it has already doubled in size.

Alma Blougher Swanson, owner of the antiques and collectibles shop at 1226 Scond St., said the last month “has been a whirlwind,” spent filling her retail space and displaying the store’s curious items.

“It has been phenomenal,” Blougher Swanson said. “Thank you so much for the patronage you have given. People have had great comments and suggestions.”

Her display space filled up so quickly that Blougher Swanson has now chosen also to occupy the next commercial space to her south at 1224 Second St. The two units are connected in the rear of the premises and share the same water and electric meters, she said.

“It only makes good business sense,” Blougher Swanson said. “It will add a wonderful display floor and with that area being utilized, we will be able to have a gathering area in the backroom, and people will be able to reserve it for meetings, gatherings and such that are related to our business’ platform.”

She said the store hours will remain the same: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through Saturdays.

“I think you will be surprised at what you see,” Blougher Swanson said. “Things change daily, and new items are added.”
