Another new shop is coming to downtown Perry with the relocation of Swan Antics from its longtime rural Ogden location to 1226 Second St.
“I’ve been thinking about it a while,” said Swan Antics owner Alma Blougher-Swanson. “Just hoping to get an increase in foot traffic.”
Blougher-Swanson said Swan Antics will maintain its same Facebook page and carry the lines of antiques, collectibles and oddities it is known for. She said her shop will add to the diversity of downtown retailing.
“I think we all are very different downtown,” Blougher-Swanson said. “My style is one of antiques and trendy, and we also have tools and rustic. I only have wood products, and I don’t paint at this time, so the the buyer can do it the way they want.”
The official opening is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 10, and the regular store hours will be Mondays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“My number 515-689-2126 if someone is looking for something special,” said Blougher-Swanson, who hopes the transition to a downtown commercial retail space from her rural showroom along U.S. Highway 169 will be useful for customers.
“People will no longer be able to roam the shed on our property,” she said. “It will strictly be a warehouse.”
