The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:30 a.m. Monday for western Dallas County, southeastern Guthrie County and eastern Adair County.
At 6 a.m. severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from nine miles west of Stuart to 10 miles northeast of Creston and moving northeast at 65 mph.
Wind gusts of 60 mph are reported.
Along with the Perry area, locations impacted include Winterset, Adel, Stuart, Earlham, Panora, De Soto, Van Meter, Redfield, Dexter, Casey, Diamondhead Lake, Menlo, Linden, Dawson, Macksburg, Badger Creek State Park and Winterset-Madison County Airport.
The area includes U.S. Interstate 80 between mile markers 80 and 114.
