The Des Moines office of the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of central Iowa Friday, forecasting thunderstorms through central Iowa later Friday and into early Saturday morning.
Some storms may be severe into this Friday, the NWS said, with the primary threats being damaging winds and large hail. A tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
Along with Dallas County, the hazardous weather outlook applies to Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Palo Alto, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Butler, Bremer, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Hardin, Grundy, Black Hawk, Crawford, Carroll, Greene, Boone, Story, Marshall, Tama, Audubon, Guthrie, Polk, Jasper,
Poweshiek, Cass, Adair, Madison, Warren, Marion, Mahaska, Adams, Union, Clarke, Lucas, Monroe, Wapello, Taylor, Ringgold, Decatur, Wayne, Appanoose and Davis counties.
