BOONE — Emma Dighton did all Boone could have asked for Thursday, limiting Perry to only three base runners and striking out six while hitting for the cycle as the host Toreadors posted an 8-0 win in Raccoon River Conference softball.[wpedon id=”82220″ align=”center”]

Boone (11-14, 3-7) rattled off 18 hits in the victory, scoring once in the first and four times in the second before adding single tallies in the fourth, fifth and sixth frames.

Dighton raised her hit total to 43 with her sixth double, sixth triple and sixth home run of the season while raising her RBI total to 25. The freshman hit a single, double, solo home run and triple, in that order, with teammates Lauren Calkins and Jaiden Huseman adding four hits apiece.

Alyssa Kruger surrendered eight runs on 18 hits in taking the loss.

Jo Diw had a pair of singles for Perry (8-14, 0-8), with Grace Stewart drawing a walk to account for the three Jayettes to reach base safely.

Perry is at Carroll for a varsity only battle at 11 a.m. today. They will play Grinnell at 12 p.m. and host Pella Christian 1:45 p.m. Saturday.
