The Iowa Storm Prediction Center (SPC) will issue a test tornado watch at 10 a.m. Wednesday as part of its annual drill.
The test tornado watch will be tone alerted on NOAA Radio and sent through the Emergency Alert System (EAS) as a test message, according to the SPC.
The National Weather Service in Des Moines will then issue a test tornado warning for Iowa counties at about 10:15 a.m..
At 11 a.m. the National Weather Service will issue a Severe Weather Statement to terminate the test.
