The connector trail bridge over Beaver Creek was put in place this week with the use of two large cranes at the work site on 130th Street east of Perry.
The one-mile stretch of 130th Street has been closed for nearly four weeks between L Place and M Avenue for the bridge project, which is part of the phase-four construction of the High Trestle Trail to Perry.
Trail paving is also nearly complete between Quinlan Avenue and the completed trail at R Avenue west of Woodward.
The extension of the High Trestle Trail will eventually connect with the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Perry. About 85% of the project’s estimated overall cost of $5 million to $6 million has been raised, according to Dallas County Conservation Board Director Mike Wallace.
