A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of First Avenue and Warford Street in Perry about 7:30 p.m. Thursday resulted in the transport of two passengers to the Dallas County Hospital by ambulance.

The incident involved a Chrysler Sebring and GMC Acadia. The vehicles appeared to side-swipe one another along their passenger sides.

An adult female in the Sebring was taken by ambulance to DCH after a boy about 10 years old, who was seated in the rear passenger-side seat of the Acadia, was transported. Both were conscious and in good humor with emergency personnel when treated at the scene.

No other injuries appeared to have occurred, and both vehicles were able to drive away under their own power after police concluded the preliminary investigation.

The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders and Dallas County EMS responded to the incident.

  1. I don’t know what caused this particular accident, but I’ve noticed a lot of folks still drive too fast on First Avenue despite the new lights. I’ve personally witnessed a lot of drivers speeding up to beat the red lights. Also, not everyone is paying much attention to turning lanes either.
