Two vehicles collided west of Perry Friday shortly before 5:30 p.m., sending one car down an embankment and causing injuries to at least one occupant.

The mishap occurred on Iowa Highway 141 at H Avenue. The cause of the collision is unknown at this hour as are the identities of the occupants and the extent of injuries.

The Perry Police Department, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County EMS and Dallas County Sheriff’s office responded to the incident.

The accident occurred during the evening rush hour, and law enforcement agents provided traffic control along Iowa Highway 141. The afternoon’s drizzle was just starting freeze, making travel more risky for motorists.
