The Minburn Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas Center Volunteer Fire Department responded Sunday night to a house fire at 22760 Laredo Trail.

Charges are pending in connection with the Sunday night house fire at 22760 Laredo Trail south of Perry, according to a spokesperson for the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.

A statement issued Monday morning by the Minburn Volunteer Fire Department said the fire was contained to the main level of the residence, with significant smoke damage throughout the house.

The statement also said three persons “were able to escape the structure.” One person was transported by Dallas County EMS with burn injuries, and a “second individual was taken into custody by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department and was later transported by Dallas County EMS to a Des Moines hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.”

The fire and circumstances leading up to it remain under investigation, according to Dallas County Chief Deputy Sheriff Adam Infante. He said an arrest is likely, and the public is in no danger at this time.

The 81-year-old house is owned by Neil O’Sullivan and Gerard Thomson, according to county records.
