A Fort Dodge man faces charges after a one-vehicle rollover accident on Bittersweet Road near 140th Street about 2:45 a.m. Thursday left three people with minor injuries.

A Fort Dodge man was arrested early Thursday after a one-vehicle rollover accident on a gravel road in northeast Dallas County left three people with minor injuries.

Benjamin Reise Howe, 20, of 180 Avenue M W, Ft. Dodge, was arrested by a Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputy in the 14000 block of Bittersweet Road in Woodward on charges of driving under suspension, failure to maintain control, no seat belt and minor in possession of alcohol.

The vehicle Howe was driving left the roadway about 2:45 a.m. Thursday on Bittersweet Road, entered the east ditch and overturned. Law enforcement officers administered a field sobriety test to Howe at the scene of the accident.

One of the injured occupants of the vehicle was a woman 31 weeks pregnant who said “her stomach hurts,” according to radio traffic.

The injured were treated at the scene by Dallas County EMS. At least one was transported to the Dallas County Hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol, Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Dallas County EMS, Woodward First Responders and Woodward Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident.
