UPDATE: Teen charged after fleeing law at 110 miles per hour

A 14-year-old female is taken into custody by Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs Sunday afternoon after allegedly stealing a Coon Rapids Police Department squad cars and driving it as far as Perry.

Law enforcement officers from several agencies inspect the scene on Iowa Highway 141 near 12th Street Sunday afternoon after a Coon Rapids Police Department patrol vehicle was reported stolen in Coon Rapids.

The girl who allegedly stole a Coon Rapids police car Sunday led law enforcement on a pursuit that at times reached 110 mph, according to a report from the Iowa State Patrol.

The youth was charged with first-degree theft, theft of firearms, eluding and several traffic-related charges, according to ISP Sergeant Alex Dinkla.

No injuries were reported, but damage was sustained by both the Coon Rapids patrol vehicle and the Perry Police Department patrol vehicle, Dinkla said.

Law enforcement agencies involved in the pursuit included the Iowa State Patrol, Perry Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Greene County Sheriff’s office, Guthrie County Sheriff’s office and Coon Rapids Police Department.
