The Perry Piecemakers quilting guild awarded eight Quilts of Valor to local veterans in ceremonies held Friday afternoon at the Elks Club in Perry.
Honored with Quilts of Valor were Brad Burrell, James Edward Cornelius, Louis George Hoger, James Michael Kelley, John “Jack” Lint, David P. Oliveira; Wayne Kenneth Priest, John “Jack” Lint and Larry Vodenik.
Veterans of the U.S. military residing at the Spring Valley campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes were also honored in a brief ceremony Friday afternoon. Newly hung service medallions and photographs now grace the hallway, featuring veterans Darold Bice, Lloyd Miller, Grace Moore, Gene Volz, Bill Wade and Jon Williams
