GUTHRIE CENTER — Visiting Woodward-Granger connected on 26-of-44 (59 percent) shots, an accuracy clip that helped lift the Hawks to a 60-45 win over AC/GC in West Central Conference boys basketball Friday.
W-G (5-6, 3-6) hit 3-of-11 3-pointers, leaving the team with an impressive 23-of-33 (70 percent) connection rate inside the arc. The team sank five of their seven attempts at the free throw line.
A positive sign for W-G was the 17 assists that accompanied the 26 field goals and the 20 steals generated by the defense.
Freshman guard Bryce Achnebach nearly produced a triple-double for W-G as he finished with 16 points, 11 assists and eight steals. He pulled down five rebounds and was 8-of-10 from the field, including a perfect 8-of-8 inside the 3-point boundary.
Marcus McConahay led the team with 26 points, with Brendan Bird adding six points, Brady Aunspach five, Reese Jamison four and Bodie Harrison three. Harrison had five caroms and Jamison four to aid the winning cause.

W-G will visit West Central Valley Tuesday before hosting Des Moines Christian Friday.
