The Woodward-Granger Community School District Foundation recently awarded $500 mini-grants to two Woodward-Granger staff members for the 2018 spring grant cycle. Woodward-Granger Preschool teacher Erica Leuenberger and Grantwood School teacher Lisa Anderson were the recipients.

Thanks to an application written by teacher Leuenberger, the Woodward-Granger Preschool now has new puppets and a puppet theater. Playing with puppets is a great way for young children to learn and practice new literacy skills, she said.

Students in the Grandwood Vocational Program can now sport uniforms thanks to the project proposed by Anderson. The newly purchased uniforms help students project a professional appearance in the workplace.

The Woodward Granger Community School District Foundation works to provide enrichment opportunities for Woodward-Granger students and their families. In addition to annual teacher grants, the organization provides annual scholarships to graduating seniors.

Fall grant applications are due Oct. 1, and all W-G staff members are welcome to apply. For more information, email the foundation at woodwardgrangerfoundation@gmail.com.
