A Waukee man was arrested Monday for allegedly assaulting his wife and smashing her work computer.

Dennis Paul Ferguson, 54, of 2410 S.E. Maxwell Dr., Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.

The incident began about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 2400 block of Maxwell Drive in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

According to court records, Ferguson and the victim “were having an argument” that turned into a physical altercation.

“At one point,” Ferguson allegedly “grabbed her and then grabbed her work computer and smashed it,” according to court records. Ferguson told the officers that “he attempted to get ahold of her phone but was unable to.”

The victim “complained of injury where she was grabbed, but there was no visible marking,” according to court records.

Ferguson is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference Oct. 28 in Dallas County District Court.
