A Waukee man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly slapping a teenager who resides in the home.
Christopher Jason Alves, 43, of 1130 S.E. Olson Dr., Waukee, was charged with assault and child endangerment.
The incident began about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of S.E. Olson Drive, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
Investigating officers determined that Alves allegedly “did strike” the 14-year-old victim “on the left side of the victim’s face with his hand,” according to court records.
A witness to the incident “verified the assault,” and Alves “admitted to striking the victim,” according to court records.
Alves was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 4 in Dallas County District Court.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
