Waukee man arrested for assault, disorderly conduct Wednesday

Billy Lee Roberts, 47, of Waukee was arrested Wednesday on charges of assault causing bodily injury and disorderly conduct-fighting or violent behavior.

A Waukee man was arrested Wednesday evening after allegedly assaulting another man at his residence.

Billy Lee Roberts, 47, of 660 Walnut St., #2, Waukee, was charged with assault causing bodily injury and disorderly conduct-fighting or violent behavior.

The incident began about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, when officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a fight in the 600 block of Walnut Street and found “Roberts being held down by” his victim, according to court records.

Officers separated the disputants, and Roberts admitted to “attempting to kick” the victim “at the door.”

Officers observed that the victim “did have injuries from this encounter on the left side of his stomach,” according to court records.

Roberts is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance Thursday in Dallas County District Court.

Roberts was convicted of disorderly conduct in 1993 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of assault causing bodily injury-peace officers/other in 1996 in Polk County District Court and of assault in 2000 in Polk County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
