A West Des Moines man was arrested Saturday night after a scuffle in a room of the Hilton Garden Inn in West Des Moines.
Michael Shane Gage, 41, of 298 S. 64th St., West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began Saturday about 10:30 p.m. in the 200 block of S. 64th Street, where Gage and the victim “got into an altercation” that allegedly “became physical,” according to court records.
“The victim suffered an injury to his left forearm” and “had a torn pocket on his jeans,” according to court records. “The victim also complained of pain to his head from being struck by” Gage.
Gage was held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
