Alexis Marie Clark, 18, of Woodward was arrested Friday on charges of assault and interference with official acts-bodily injury.

A Woodward woman was arrested Friday evening after allegedly threatening her step-father with a knife and resisting arrest by officers of the Woodward Police Department.

Alexis Marie Clark, 18, of 211 S. Walnut St., Woodward, was charged with assault and interference with official acts-bodily injury.

The incident began about 7:15 p.m. Friday, when officers of the Woodward Police Department responded to a report of a female armed with a knife.

When the officers arrived, Clark was unarmed and seated on a couch, according to court records, “yelling profanity towards her mother and father” and being “threatening towards her father and mother.”

Clark soon became “argumentative and aggressive towards the officers,” according to court records. When the officers were compelled to “assist” Clark in leaving the residence “so she would not possibly assault her mother,” she “resisted” and “would not comply with the direct orders from” the officers.

An investigation revealed Clark allegedly had been armed with a knife and “was threatening her step-father,” but she “threw the knife across the room” prior to the officers’ arrival.

Clark also allegedly “continued to resist” and “was threatening” toward the Woodward Police Department Officers and the staff at the Dallas County Jail, and she “had to be assisted from the patrol car and into the jail cell,” according to court records.

Clark was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to posting a $600 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a pretrial conference July 28 in Dallas County District Court.
