Yale man charged with year-long series of child sexual abuses

Jeffrey Stuart McDivitt, 67, of Yale was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff's office Friday and charged with two counts each of enticing away a minor, indecent contact with a child and lascivious acts with a child.

ANKENY, Iowa – A Yale man was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s office Friday on sexual abuse charges in connection with a year-long series of incidents allegedly involving two children under the age of 13.

Jeffrey Stuart McDivitt, 67, was charged with two counts each of enticing away a minor, indecent contact with a child and lascivious acts with a child.

The abuse allegedly occurred at a residence in Ankeny between June 2017 and August 2018, according to criminal complaints filed by the Polk County Attorney’s office. McDivitt allegedly fondled his victims and brought his penis into contact with them.

McDivitt was arrested Friday and released Saturday from the Polk County Jail on $44,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Aug. 28 in Polk County District Court.
