- Erin Smith of Estes Park, Colo., was traveling east near the 100.5 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 when she tried to avoid a semi-tractor trailer that was swaying into both lanes. Her vehicle struck the trailer and came to rest in the median. Smith was taken to Methodist Medical Center West for treatment. Damage to Smith’s vehicle was estimated at $6,500. The semi-tractor trailer did not stop at the scene.
March 14, 2017
- Miquinn Djuan Stokes, 24, of 2215 Sugar Ave., Waterloo, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of theft.
- David Holm of Ankeny was traveling west in the 14000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $6,000.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
