A Boxholm man was killed near dawn Monday morning in a one-vehicle mishap in the 25900 block of Iowa Highway 141 east of Perry.
Edward Nelson, 65, of Boxholm, suffered a medical condition that caused him to lose control of the vehicle, according to Iowa State Patrol spokesperson Sgt. Nathan Ludwig.
Local emergency crews responded to the scene of the accident about 6:30 a.m.
Nelson’s pickup truck was eastbound on Iowa Highway 141 approaching Quinlan Avenue when it left the roadway, crossed the median and the westbound lanes and came to rest in the north ditch.
