FAYETTE — Perry’s Will Whiton saw plenty of playing time Saturday for Minnesota State University in their 52-7 win over host Upper Iowa University.
Ranked fourth in NCAA Divison II, the Mavericks improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play with the victory. The Peacocks fell to 4-3 and 1-2 with the loss.
Whiton, a former All-State defensive back for Perry, has six tackles for the Mavericks. He is also credited with a blocked kick in a Sept. 9 win over Minnesota Crookston.
