A monument to the importance of agriculture to our area economy, the grain silos in Minburn stand guard over the town like David watching over his sheep.
Such was the backdrop for the Minburn Area Firefighters Association fundraiser held last Saturday at Meek Park in Minburn.
The menu consisted of pork loin sandwiches, baked beans, chips, dessert bar and drink. According to member firefighters, monies raised are earmarked for an updated fire truck for the community.
After the meal, the crowd was entertained by the Ma Deuce Band, who played from the Big Heart Stage.
The weather was unusually cool, and children in attendance enjoyed roller skating and riding their bicycles, tricycles and other vehicles on the roller skating rink in front of the stage.
This event was part of the Meet Me in Minburn series.
