The volunteer staffers who make PEGASUS (Perry Educational Government Activities Sports for Us) TV 12 (Mediacom digital 121) could use your help.
So common a site at events in Perry and the surrounding area that they often become just a fixture of the background, the cameras of PEGASUS have recorded literally thousands of events over the past decade, and now the public access channel is hoping the public will come and claim their own history.
Friday and Saturday mark the 15th annual Highway 141 Garage Sales. Extending from Sloan eastward to Grimes, the 100-mile route features sales in communities along the way.
In conjunction with the annual event, PEGASUS, located at 1014 Second St. in Perry, will be setting up a table outside their offices from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday. There the public can browse and claim — completely free — DVDs copies of all PEGASUS programs recorded over the past nine years. The move to a digital format has generated a huge backlog of DVDs, and all will be free for the taking.
Included are nearly every Perry High School football and basketball games, home and away, as well as a huge catalog of varsity baseball, softball and volleyball, as well as many soccer and wrestling matches and some cross country events.
A treasure trove of Fine Arts concerts, community gatherings and events and much more will also be available. Browsers will also find graduation ceremonies, DARE events, school concerts at all grade levels, school plays and musicals, the Jukebox event and many other activities. A freewill offering will be accepted.
Don’t miss this chance to secure a piece of local history by stopping by PEGASUS Friday.
