The Raccoon River Conference and the IHSAA recently recognized the Perry cross country teams and several members for outstanding performance in the classroom.
Dane McCarty, Juma Bushiri, Zach Thompson, Aaron Lockwood and manager Star Love all received RRC Academic All-Conference honors, with the IHSAA honoring the Bluejays with an Excellence in Academic Achievement Award.
The former requires the athlete to be in grades 10-12, to have earned a letter and to have a GPA of no less than 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. The IHSAA award is given to teams whose cumulative GPA is 3.0-3.24.
Jayettes earning RRC Academic All-Conference recognition were McKinley Thompson, Joselyn Carrillo and Julissa Calderon.
