  • A caller said a man was “painting a bicycle” near a local gas station, and the caller “thought it was suspicious.” An officer responded and found what the man was painting “was his own bicycle.”
  • A caller said “she hasn’t been able to get a hold of” her mother and requested an officer of the Perry Police Department check on her mother’s welfare. An officer responded and did not make contact with the mother but was told by a neighbor that the mother “was out on the porch about 10 minutes ago.”
  • A caller said “he hit a cat while pulling out of the parking lot.” While an officer responded, a second caller said “they picked up the cat.”
  • A caller from Perry High School said “the shop class made three research design cars, which were in a trailer,” and “one of the cars is missing.” An officer responded.
  • Someone entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order “to talk to an officer about drug activity.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said an out-of-town visitor was visiting, and the caller and the visitor “got into an argument.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “two Fedex packages were stolen from his front porch today.” An officer responded. The caller later called again and said he learned the packages were delivered to his neighbor’s residence, and the neighbor “put the items in his garage for safe keeping,” and so there was “no theft.”
  • Roberto Dorantes-Figueroa of 1015 Otley Ave. was issued a citation for third-offense dog at large.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to speak with an officer “about a man who walked here from tennessee.” An officer responded.

July 19, 2017

A caller said a dog “is possibly being neglected.” The caller said the dog “is always tied outside in the backyard,” and the caller did “not believe anyone ever interacts with it,” and it is never “let inside.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely and accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
