July 20, 2017

  • A caller said a vehicle was “parked in the middle of the street with its hazards on. No one has been around it for the past hour.” An officer responded, tried unsuccessfully to make contact with the registered owner and had the vehicle towed. A woman later entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave., “reporting her car missing from that location.”
  • A caller said “someone picked some flowers off her pots” and “put decorative paper up on her front garden.” An officer responded and found “a child’s banner was strung across her flower bed.” The caller was “advised to get a trail camera pointed at her back porch.”
  • A caller requested a welfare check on a dog outside on a leash that “appears to be very hot” and was “foaming at the mouth.” An officer responded and made contact with someone who said “her son was supposed to be taking care of it.”
  • A caller said her 9-year-old grandson was missing. While still on the line, the caller said her grandson was found.
  • A caller “reported he had seen a couple arguing in front of a child.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “her neighbor has a dog on their porch, and it doesn’t have any water.” An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “observed a dog outside” and “checked its welfare due to the heat.” The officer spoke with the dog owners, who said “they will be taking the dog inside.”
  • A caller said someone stole her wallet. An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and found the dog’s owner, who was “searching for his dog. The dog and owner were reunited.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a cat she caught running at large. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “an opossum that found his way into his toolbox.” An officer responded and provided a live trap, which was returned by the caller shortly after.
  • A caller said her cat was lost.
  • A caller said “there was a dog outside, and it was panting.” An officer responded but did not find the hot dog.
  • A caller “reported sparks around a light post.” An officer responded but did not find the sparking post.
  • A caller said “a tree was down near her house” and “was completely blocking the street.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller said “a tree came down in her yard.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “a tree was partially blocking the street.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller “reported trees being down,” with one “partially blocking the street.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller said “her sister saw someone at the window when they were going around the house, making sure they were all closed.” The caller said “the person had a lot of rings” and was “smoking a cigarette.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “a red vehicle had tried to hit them.” The caller said “she knew who the person driving the vehicle was.” An officer responded but did not find the person or the vehicle.

July 21, 2017

  • A caller asked whether a local business was “aware that there was vandalism on their pop machine.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “multiple people in her yard.” The caller said “one of them had a long object wrapped in a blanket,” and the caller “thought it could be a gun.” Officers responded but did not find anyone.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
