September 14, 2017

  • A caller reported an abandoned bicycle. An officer responded, “picked up the bike and took it to the shed.”
  • A caller “requested an officer look at an ATV he just purchased.” An officer responded and determined there were no records showing the ATV stolen.
  • A caller requested to speak with an officer about someone “who has a committal order.” The caller requested “foot patrols just in case he starts acting up.” An officer responded and told the caller “to call the police department if they have any problems.”
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital requested a welfare check on “the wife of a patient” who “normally comes to the hospital every day to see him but has not come today.” The caller said the wife was not answering her phone, and the caller was “concerned for her welfare as she has suffered a fall a few days ago.” An officer responded, and “no vehicle was found in the driveway.” The officer called the hospital, and the caller said the wife “just showed up,” and “she is okay.”
  • A caller said someone “has been drinking and having suicidal thoughts” and “making threats to burn his house down.” Officers responded, and the Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • A caller “had questions regarding a divorce decree and child-custody language.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said he “believes there is someone living” in a van and “has been there about a week.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his vehicle’s suspension had blown out.” An officer responded and directed the caller to a local tow service.

September 15, 2017

  • Charles Jacobsen, 24, 46 310th St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of providing alcohol to a minor.
  • Bryce Parnell, 20, 1306 11th St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense minor in possession of alcohol.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said her grandson “did not go to school today.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she received a phone call from a man “saying that he had her daughter captured and had a girl screaming and requested money.” The caller said she told the man she does not have a daughter. An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with her son, and the woman said the boy “did not go to school today,” and she “located him walking around.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a child “had left the school.” An officer responded, and the caller called again and said the child returned to school.
  • A caller said “someone had dumped a bike into their dumpster last night.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital reported a 5-year-old child “was bitten by the neighbor’s dog.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported an animal carcass on the road. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported a dog or dogs left behind in a vacant house.” An officer responded and determined people “have been taking care of the dogs,” and “they are not abandoned.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said she “feels she is being targeted, and she is concerned for her family.” An officer responded.

September 16, 2017

  • Nicole Kay Palmer, 32, 300 Second Ave., Jamaica, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana and on a Des Moines Police Department warrant for possession of methamphetamine.
  • Chad Duane Palmer, 44, was arrested on charges of driving while revoked, driving while suspended and interference with official acts.
  • A caller reported tools missing from his garage. An officer responded and determined a breaking and entering occurred.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
