Perry students not shy about showing school spirit

School spirit was on full display Tuesday as the Perry volleyball team was treated to a "broadcasting" of their match against ADM. From left are: Kade VanKirk, Ryan Rathje, Connor Nielsen, Pedro Calderon and Alvaro Soto, all nattily clad.

When it comes to supporting their classmates who are involved in fall sports, the Perry student body has been on the top of their game.

Volleyball matches have regularly witnessed large chunks of the football, cross country and swim teams. A sizable number of students attend both home and road football games, and I am sure that when the swim team finally has a home meet (September 17) and the harriers host the Leon Fox Invite (October 1) that the student section will be well represented.

Obviously practices and game schedules can intervene, but so far this school year the support has been excellent.

And that support has come not only from fellow athletes, but from the student body in general. There is no doubt that those participating love seeing their friends on hand to root them on.

Hopefully the community will follow suit and be there to root on the Bluejays and Jayettes whenever the chance arises.
