GLIDDEN — The pool in Glidden is outdoors, and on Tuesday that made for cool conditions for all the swimmers present for their first IWSC meet of the season.

Despite the less-than-summer like temps of both air and water, the Perry Summer Swim Team was plenty warm, as they raced to a 299-266 victory.

Five Perry swimmers finished with a five-star effort, signifying wins in each of their events: Delaney Platt (8U), Jaylene Karolus (9-10) and Haley Vaughn (15-18) for the Perry girls and Drew Storey (13-14) and Devon Archer (15-18) for the boys squad.

Emily Dowd, Sophia McDevitt and Addison Huntington had twin wins for the 9-10 girls, with Ainsley Marburger (11-12) and Vivian Gonzales (15-18) also winning twice each for the ladies while Riese Archer (11-12) and AlexThompson (15-18) had double victories for the Perry boys.

Girls 9-10 swimmer Jenna Nelson also had a win, as did Alec Burgin (8U), Sam Ridnour (11-12) and Charse Archer (13-14) for the boys.
