A total of 19 swimmers earned All-Star recognition of some form from the Perry Summer Swim Team this season. Team or individual honors went to 19 racers, with Iowa West Swim Conference recognition earned by 14 swimmers.

PSST individual All-Star recognition required a swimmer to score at least 30, of a possible 45, points in each particular stroke or the Individual Medley.

Aleah Karolus (8U), Lilly Riley (9-10), Sophia McDevitt (11-12) and Haley Vaughn (15-18) led the girls as three-time all-stars, with Quin Mahler-Moreno (9-10), Abby Herman (13-14) and Stephanie Hill (15-18) two-time all-stars while Sarah Prombo (8U), Addison Huntington (11-12) and Breanna Penenger (15-18) earned one all-star nod apiece.

Riese Archer (13-14) led the entire Perry squad with four all-star disciplines, with Garrett Winey (11-12) honored three times. Joel Storey (9-10) and Devon Archer and Ethan Winey (both 15-18) were the three boys named two-time all-stars, with Townes Wilson and Isaac Winey (both 8U), Kane Mahler-Moreno (9-10) and Logan Castillo (11-12) also named as all-stars.

Swimmers were required to finish in the top 10 percent of team points possible to secure All-Around All-Star status. Quin Mahler-Moreno and Lilly Riley (both 9-10), Sophia McDevitt (11-12), and Haley Vaughn (15-18) did so for the girls team, with Garrett Winey (11-12) and Riese Archer (13-14) reaching the top level for the boys.

Scoring at least 36 of a possible 45 points in a stroke secures IWSC Conference Individual All-Star recognition.

Sophia McDevitt (11-12) and Haley Vaughn (15-18) were triple conference all-stars, with Aleah Karolus (8U), and Quin Mahler-Moreno and Lilly Riley (both 9-10) earning double honors while Addison Huntington (11-12) and Stephanie Hill and Breanna Penenger (both 15-18) were single all-stars.

Riese Archer (13-14) was a four-time conference all-star for Perry’s boys squad, with Garrett Winey (11-12), and Devon Archer and Ethan Winey (both 15-18) named double all-stars. Townes Wilson and Isaac Winey (both 8U) also earned conference all-star status.

The highest honors are given to IWSC Conference All-Around All-Stars, who are required to score a minimum of 180 points out of 225 possible, a lofty goal which seven PSST members managed to attain.

Earning top nods for the Perry girls were Aleah Karolus (8U), Quin Mahler-Moreno and Lilly Riley (both 9-10), Sophia McDevitt (11-12) and Haley Vaughn (15-18). Two boys — Garrett Winey (11-12) and Riese Archer (13-14) were also Conference All-Around All-Stars.

The Perry Summer Swim Team posted a 9-0 record in regular season dual meets this summer, and recently finished fourth at the IWSC meet. The team was coached by Jim Prombo and Haileigh Kenyon.
