W-G's Nick Brummond drains a short par putt on the sixth hole at the Woodward Golf and Country Club last season. Brummond led W-G with an 89 in his final prep round Friday.

Tuesday found the Woodward-Granger golf teams paired with host Madrid and Earlham for a coed triangular.

Madrid’s 173 won the boys side of the meet, with W-G carding a 179 and Earlham a 186. Earlham’s 229 won the girls portion, as W-G and Madrid had only three players apiece make the rounds; four scores are required for an official team total.

Austin Ober fired a 43 to lead the W-G boys, with the Hawks also scoring rounds from Nick Brummond (45), Joe Rhodes (45) and Brady Aunspach (46). Max Helbling (57) and Hunter Pierce (61) were also in action for W-G.

Jacob Meeker’s 40 paced Madrid, with C.J. Lowe shooting a 43, Jacob Sohrada a 44 and Aaron Sperling a 46. Cole Rigby (50) and Colton Eccles (63) also played for the Tigers.

Cylias Russell (40), Ben Clement (42), Grant Petersen (48) and Quinn Weber (55) provided Earlham’s four scores. Not scoring for the Cardinals were Jerod Leporte (63) and Jim Knight (67).

Cierra DeHoet (49), Paige Mescher (53) and Ashland James (59) played for the W-G girls and Callie Evans (60), Sophia Harshberger (60) and Sydney Weise (66) for Madrid.

Kari Coulter (50), Katie Eckard (52), Meredith Hochstetler (62) and Kaylee Hohertz (65) were the four lowest for Earlham, with Ashleigh Weesner (83) also making the rounds.
