WOODWARD — School and community pride were on display Thursday as large crowds lined the streets for the Woodward-Granger Homecoming 2015 parade.

Members of the Homecoming Court were in the procession, as well as the W-G high school band and cheerleaders. All levels of football in the W-G school district were involved, as were the high school volleyball team and the youth cheerleader squads.

The route began at 8th and Cherry Streets, traveled south to 9th (130th) Street, then east to Main Street. After passing through downtown Woodward, the procession turned west on 2nd Street, ending at the W-G High School.

Yards, intersections and storefronts along the route bustled with onlookers, and the youngsters along the sidewalks were well-rewarded for their patience as a seemingly endless shower of candy was tossed in their direction.

W-G will battle Southwest Valley tonight at Hawk Stadium, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ThePerryNews.com — your home page for all Hawk sports — will have complete coverage.
