The members of Los Tres Amigos KC Mariachi Band are multi-instrumentalists.

Perry enjoyed an early wave of Cinco de Mayo spirit Sunday afternoon when Los Tres Amigos KC Mariachi Band played in concert at the Perry Performing Arts Center.

The concert was sponsored by the Perry Fine Arts and Hispanics United for Perry and featured the noted Kansas City trio, who played a wide variety of songs, ranging from popular Mariachi tunes as well as music from South and Central America, Cuba and the Caribbean.

Sundays selections included the Cuban classic “Guantanemera,” the Mexican classic “El Mariachi Loco” and the rock classic “Black Magic Woman” by Carlos Santana.

The Three Amigos KC are Robert Scagliotti on contra bass and guitar, Greg Richter on guitar and Patrick Conway on guitar.

The next concert in the Perry Fine Arts series will feature the Russian choral group LYRA, returning to Perry for the third time since 2015. LYRA will perform Wednesday, May 8 at 7 p.m. in the Perry Performing Arts Center.

Perry Fine Arts concerts are free and open to the public, and the Perry Performing Arts Center is handicap accessible. In order to maintain the high quality of the Perry Fine Arts concerts, the non-profit organization depends on tax-deductible donations. For more information, contact Cathy Clark, cecat49@msn.com.
