A mild evening and golden-tasseled corn 12 miles south of Perry provided the perfect atmosphere for Panther Creek Church of the Brethren’s annual ice cream social.
As the crowded parking lot foretold and the full church basement proved, more than 120 people attended this popular event.
Beef burgers, chips, condiments, relish and a choice of beverages composed the main meal.
For dessert, a variety of pies, cakes and bars provided a tantalizing compliment to the homemade ice cream. Three varieties of homemade ice cream were offered, which included vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.
A free will donation was taken, with proceeds going to support the church youth group’s attendance at the 2018 National Youth Conference and to support the church’s junior and senior youth activities.
