Several members of the Perry High School Class of 1977 planning subcommittee of the PHS All-’70s Class Reunion planning committee met over lunch Friday in Perry to fine tune plans for next summer’s all-’70s reunion.

The first All-’70s Reunion was held over the Fourth of July weekend in 2010 and drew hundreds of attendees. The next All-’70s Reunion is scheduled for the summer of 2017.

Class of 1977 members Dirk Cavanaugh, Pat Graney and Kirk VanKirk were assisted in their deliberations Friday by Cavanaugh’s son, Matt Cavanaugh of Denver, who graciously agreed to serve as secretary for the meeting.

While the reunions are billed as all-’70s celebrations, the porous boundaries of the events also attract many former PHS students from the 1960s and earlier and the 1980s and later.

The organizing committee and its numerous subcommittees advise PHS graduates to stay tuned for forthcoming announcements about opportunities to help plan and execute next summer’s reunion.
