Perry Perk owner Tari Mason warmed the cups of the Society of Retired Experts (SORE) Wednesday morning during the last day in her original location at 1218 Second St.
Mason will reopen Tuesday, Feb. 6 in her new location at 1201 Warford St.
The new Perry Perk will be located just east of Haaland Financial Services in the old Dillenbeck-Citizens State Bank building. The newly restored commercial space will give Mason significantly more seating room.
Long-term plans include coordinating activities with the ladies of La Poste and keeping evening hours for open-mic nights and similar attractions for the younger set.
“But right now we just want to get moved in and get up and going,” Mason said. She said Thursday was devoted to moving the bigger fixtures from the old to the new space, with the weekend given to hooking everything up and giving the state health inspector a look at the new arrangements.
“Tari has provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere to the SORE meetings for four years,” said SORE member Bob Rounds, “and we wish her continued prosperity in her new location.”
Mason opened her Second Street coffeehouse in 2013, and she has enjoyed a steady trade in coffee, sweet rolls and lunch plates. A soft opening in the new location is planned for Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 7 a.m., with a grand opening celebration planned for April.
