Between Sunday and Monday, the Josh Davis Memorial Plaza in downtown Perry received a colorful addition in the form of dozens of crocheted hula hoops, a sign of the upcoming Fiber Art Fair.

The south-facing exterior wall of the Mandarin Cafe, which forms the north face of the Josh David Memorial Plaza in downtown Perry, became a kaleidoscope of colorful wheels within wheels Monday morning when dozens of crocheted hula hoops were hung in advance od Saturday’s second annual Fiber Art Fair.

In addition, more than 100 light poles in Perry’s Downtown Cultural District — along with bike racks, benches, hand rails, you name it — are sheathed in colorful yarn this week in the lead up to the event sponsored by the La Poste LLC and Art on the Prairie.
