PANORA — The Iowa Football Coaches Association recently released their list of Academic All-State honorees, and Panorama’s Trey Cobb was on the Class 1A list.
Inclusion on the distinguished list is not easily achieved. A player must be a senior starter nominated by his coach and must participate in extracurricular activities beyond football. In addition, the student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.
Cobb ran 84 times for 429 yards and seven touchdowns for the Panthers while catching nine passes out of the backfield for 141 yards.
A menace on defense, he finished with 88.5 total tackles (47 solo, 77 assisted) and one sack. He had nine stops behind the line of scrimmage and recovered a pair of fumbles.
Panorama was 5-4 overall and 2-3 in Class 1A District 8 play. The Panthers are coached by Mike Kauzlarich.
