Academic honors for Bluejay, Jayette hoopsters

Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. for tonight's varsity game between Perry and visiting Greene County at Dewey Field.

Eight Jayette cagers and three Bluejays have earned Raccoon River Conference All-Academic recognition for their successes in the classroom.

Requirements for the honor includes being in grades 10-12, earning a varsity letter and having a GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.

Molly Lutmer, Hannah Peterson, Odaly Perla, Michelle Tobar, Kennedy Tunink, Ainsley Marburger, Lanie Fish, and Quinn Whiton were the octet honored from the Perry girls basketball team.

The squad also earned an IGHSAU Distinguished Academic Achievement Award for having a team cumulative GPA of 3:25 on a 4.0 scale.

Three members of the Perry boys hoops team were named All-Academic by the RRC as well. Chase Archer, Collin Malmberg and June Rey Reisberg were the Bluejay trio saluted.

Skylar Wolf is the Jayette head coach, with Aaron Lyons head coach for the Bluejays.
