ADEL — The pre-holiday boys and girls basketball seasons ended for both Perry and ADM Thursday, but it was the host Tigers were will enter the break with more cheer after a pair of lopsided Raccoon River Conference wins.

ADM (6-2, 3-1) dropped the Perry girls to 4-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play with a 68-38 win while the Tiger boys (3-3, 2-2) used two big spurts to blast Perry (1-5, 0-3), 81-52.

The hosts were in control of the opener from the outset, consistently shredding the Perry defense with hardly-contested drives down the lane. The Tigers held a 20-5 advantage after just eight minutes of play, a gap that grew to 44-14 at the half.

Perry forced hurried shots and were an unofficial 4-of-18 from beyond 3-point range. Turnovers hurt the Jayettes as well, but it was an inability to deny penetration into the heart of a 2-3 zone — which Perry never came out of — that dictated the course of the action.

ADM’s advantage stood at 63-26 after three quarters, leading to the win.

Molly Lutmer led Perry with 18 points, with Lydia Olejniczak adding 10 points. Ainsley Marburger and Hannah Peterson had three points apiece, with both Jayna Kenney and Kennedy Tunink adding two points each.

Perry was 10-of-13 at the foul line but made only eight traditional two-point filed goals in the setback.

Abbie Hlas led all scorers with 21 points. Delaney Bertman provided 18 poitns and Grace Hardcastle 11, with Aniston Smith scoring nine points, Nicole Storck four, Claire Greenslade three and Olivia Tollari two.

The Bluejays held a 12-6 lead halfway through the first quarter before failing to score for nearly eight full minutes, allowing the Tigers to use a 17-0 run that opened a gap the guests could never close. ADM outscored Perry, 35-14, over the final 12 minutes of the first half to enter the intermission holding a 41-28 lead.

A second run — this time of 13-2 — helped the hosts take a 62-39 advantage into the fourth quarter en route to the win.

Brendan Ivory had a game-high 25 points for Perry. June Reisberg tallied 11 points and Keghan West six, with four from Kato Dougan and three each from Sincere Johnson and Chase Archer completing the Bluejay scoring sheet.

Nate Mueller paced the Tigers with 21 points, with Dylan Anderson adding 14 and Caden Mager 11. Nate Conrad had eight points, Sam Hlas, Tate Stine-Smith and Ryan Junke five points apiece and Jason Millsap four. Ethan Juergens and Cody Anderson each had three points and Logan Krantz two for the home team.

Perry returns to action Jan. 7 with a trip to Winterset. They will host Ballard Jan. 10 and then Madrid for a boys/girls non-conference matinee beginning at 1 p.m.
