Perry's Caden Steva fouls back a pitch against Gilbert in their season opener. Steva drove in a run with a sacrifice at Winterset Monday.

A five-run third inning proved to be enough damage to lift ADM to a 6-2 win over Perry in Raccoon River Conference play at Progressive Field Wednesday.

Senior Kato Dougan did his best to put the Bluejays in the win column with a three-hit effort, which included a solo home run in the seventh inning. Dougan had singled, stolen a base and scored in the third to account for the first Perry tally.

Avery Meister and Juan Hernandez also had base hits for the home team, with the latter stealing a base. Beato Fausto was on base three times after drawing a pair of walks and being hit by a pitch.

Meister went the distance for Perry and showed excellent control, walking only two batters while hitting another. He struck out two and was touched for six runs on nine hits as the Jays fell to 0-2 overall and 1-1 in RRC play.

ADM (1-1, 1-0) was led at the plate by Kaden Sutton, who lifted a solo home run while adding a base hit.

Ethan Juergens went the first five innings for the Tigers, allowing an unearned run on three hits. He walked two batters and hit one while striking out three. Luke Greth tossed the final two frames, allowing a run on two hits while striking out three batters and hitting one with a pitch.

Perry is at Winterset Monday, Carroll Wednesday and Boone Thursday before returning home to host Ogden June 26.
