Perry freshman Jayna Kenney scores after splitting ADM defenders during their RRC game Friday as Molly Lutmer (14) awaits a possible rebound.

Only a continuous clock in both games limited margin of victory for visiting ADM in a pair of Raccoon River Conference games with Perry Friday.

The Tiger girls (7-1, 4-0), ranked 14th in Class 4A, seized control of their game in the first quarter en route to a 64-24 win, with the ADM boys (4-1, 4-0) allowing Perry’s second basket of the game in the 29th minute of play in posting a 63-11 victory.

The Jayettes (1-8, 0-3) found themselves in a 20-6 hole after one quarter and facing a 41-12 deficit at the half. The Tigers made 21 steals in the win, with the hosts guilty of at least a dozen other turnovers or errant passes, lost balls out of bounds or traveling.

Molly Lutmer made four 3-pointers in scoring 12 points, with Jayna Kenney adding four points. Hannah Peterson and Michelle Tobar had three points apiece, with Quinn Whiton and Gabby West one free throw each.

Abbie Hlas had an excellent all-around outing for the guests. Her 17 points were a game-high, and she provided six rebounds, four assists and seven steals.

A.J. Smith had 11 points, Grace Hardcastle, Kristen Baier, Delaney Bertman and Emma Jacobsen eight apiece, Abby Gonzales three and Anna Kenny one. Hardcastle had six boards and four thefts and Baier seven caroms.

The Bluejays (0-7, 0-3) allowed only nine points in first quarter, but did scored only three points of their own when Mohamed Abdelnabi splashed a trey in the final minute of the period.

From there the hapless Jay offense would go a staggering 22 minutes without a single point, falling behind 39-3 at the intermission and 51-3 entering the fourth quarter. Perry was rarely able to find enough room to even put up a shot, and were inaccurate when they did. Turnovers were in abundance, and the frustration spilled over to the defensive end of the floor, where the Tigers were able to score repeatedly on second chances.

It was 57-3 with just over three minutes remaining when Abdelnabi hit back-to-back 3-pointers, with June Ray Riesberg scoring a basket off the bench to account for Perry’s output.

Kody Hardcastle had 17 points and Wes Evers 10 for ADM, with Nate Mueller adding eight points and Nate Conrad and Dylan Anderson six apiece. Tom Boorn, Tate Stine-Smith and Jaxson Millsap scored four points apiece, with Lucas Heitz and Joe Finnegan two points each.

Perry hosts Winterset Tuesday, then finishes the pre-holiday portion of their schedule with a visit to Ogden Thursday.
