An Ankeny man was arrested on child molestation charges Tuesday in connection with a May 2019 incident in Urbandale.

Eric Jonas Hunemuller, 39, of 1110 S.E. Belmont Dr., Ankeny, was charged with lascivious acts with a child, indecent contact with a child and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse-no injury.

An investigation by the Urbandale Police Department determined that Hunemuller allegedly “did fondle or touch the pubes or genitals” of his 10-year-old daughter on May 13, 2019, according to court records. His 12-year-old daughter was a witness to the alleged assault.

The children “disclosed information of the assault” to their mother in July 2021, and law enforcement launched the investigation, according to court records.

In interviews, Hunemuller allegedly “confirmed many statements made by his children” and said he sometimes “was in the same bed as his children while sleeping” and engaged in “wrestling around with the girls, and if touching his daughter happened, it would have been an accident,” according to court records.

A warrant for Hunemuller’s arrest was ordered Dec. 30 in Dallas County District Court and served Jan. 4. Hunemuller is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $14,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 14 in Dallas County District Court.

  1. Why don’t you update this to indicate that the felony charges have been dropped and the case is considered unsubstantiated? More than one counselor has also indicated they believe him to be innocent of the charges. You’re going to get my friend killed, posting ACCUSATIONS for something like this.

      • Mr. Hunemuller is no longer burdened by these charges. He maintains his innocence. This was a slanderous lie, and it destroyed his life. It’s unlikely he’ll live another decade. Leaving this post available is borderline a lawsuit, and I have some motivation to fund said lawsuit myself. Please take this down. It’s a lie and you are propagating it.

        • As factually reported in ThePerryNews.com, Mr. Hunemuller was arrested Jan. 4, 2022, and charged with lascivious acts with a child, indecent contact with a child and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse-no injury. It appears from court records that he pleaded guilty Aug. 19, 2022, to a charge of child endangerment and was sentenced Oct. 14, 2022, to one year of probation in Dallas County District Court.

    • Possible reason being the POS involved maybe wouldn’t have had to be arraigned on this charge if Human Resources would have followed through in Story Country a number of years ago with the information they had available involving another daughter. Supervisor, friends with his parents for many years, and investigator (high school classmate) didn’t follow up completely with information using their own rules and regulations. Disregarding written letters by six different people, including a doctor and psychologist, interviewing victim alone against psychologist’s opinion, intimidation of possible abused by the defendant by telling his daughter police were going to come and take her mother away or shoot her and then called the sheriff’s office for a welfare check. The deputy couldn’t understand why the child was so upset by seeing him at the front door with his pistol in his holster! When we made a request to remove these two from the case, we were told they were unbiased and could make an unbiased decision!

What you’re really telling us is this POS is getting away with this again so he can continue “possibly” Sexually Abusing other children!
