Youngsters wishing to prove their accuracy at the charity stripe will have a chance to toe the line Dec. 8 when the Elks Hoop Shoot free throw contest is held at the Perry Middle School gym.
All students of the Perry area schools are eligible to participate in their respective age groups. There are six separate age groups, one each for boys and girls in the 8-9 year old, 10-11 year old and 12-13 year old categories. All contestants age group will be determined by their age as of April 1, 2019.
Students from the area schools will shoot at 2 p.m. with the gym opening at 1 p.m. The winners in the Perry competition will advance to the district contest in Storm Lake.
Students eligible for the Perry contest include Perry public and St. Patrick’s students, as well as those who attend ADM, AC/GC, Panorama and Woodward-Granger schools.
