A large crowd lined the route in downtown Perry Friday night for the annual Holiday Lighted Parade.

Parade floats gathered near Second Street and Otley Avenue and traveled north on Third Street before turning west for a block on Pattee Street and then parading southward along Second Street and back to Otley Avenue before disbanding.

Vehicles from the Perry Police Department and Perry Volunteer Fire Department led the way, with more businesses and civic groups entering floats or lighted vehicles this year thanks to a prize-money incentive provided by the Matt and Shanda Carstens Family Foundation.

Festivities were seen before and after the parade, with carolers from the PHS Select Choir, directed by Jenn Hillman, bringing spirit to the season and Santa Claus greeting youngsters in the lobby of the Hotel Pattee while young pianists played holiday songs in the festively decorated lobby.

The Carnegie Library Museum was also open for the annual Festival of Trees, with this year’s 40 entries showing the joyful use of creative imagination by the entrants.
