Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. for tonight's varsity game between Perry and visiting Greene County at Dewey Field.

Perry scored 10 runs Wednesday, their best offensive showing in 40 games, but it was far from enough as Carroll posted a football-like 28-10 win at Progressive Field. A 24-2 loss to visiting North Polk followed for Perry, who fell to 0-10 overall.

The young Bluejays could have easily folded their proverbial tents Wednesday after trailing, 17-3, three innings into the game. The team refused to yield, adding four runs in the fourth to put the score at 17-7, and, even after giving up 11 tallies in the top of the fifth, still managed to plate three runs of their own in the fifth.

Owen Myers had two hits and three RBIs for Perry, with Gavin Hegstrom, Carter Iben, Kaelen Davis, Geren Kenney, and Caden Heck adding base hits. Juan Hernandez was twice hit by a pitch and drew one walk while scoring twice, with Caden Steva also scoring two times while Hegstrom had two RBIs.

Myers had a double and a single while scoring once and driving in a run against North Polk, with Hegstrom adding a single and a walk. Steva had a single as well, with Hernandez scoring after drawing a walk.
